Was it ethical/right for the Israeli Jews to go to South America and hunt down the former Nazis?

Perhaps the methods they used were brutal, but still no where near as brutal as the evil acts this Nazis committed. It doesn't matter that Israel didn't exist when the Holocaust was carried out, it is a country comprised mostly of Jews, it has every right to feel outraged by the atrocities committed during world war two.
