How can i stop spending money ?

I have aculated a sum of money for a house dep- i don't have a job now as i've been made redundant so i dont want to place a dep a house- im going on holiday and given myself �5k to spend and some to charity. I will still have a fair amount left so wandering whether I sholuld retrain (�5k + another hol) or just save and find myself another job??
